Sneak Peak of Yumminess At Golden Sands Resort!

The other choice for the main dish is the Grilled Beef Tenderloin with mushroom ravioli, onion soubise (puree) and a saute of wild mushrooms. In Chef Brock’s words ‘This dish is about the mushrooms’ And he’s right! I was very pleased with the mushrooms as they are one of my favourite things to eat. The mushrooms lend an earthy flavor to the thick chunk of beef. And inside the ravioli were… more mushrooms!

So which do I prefer – the fish or the beef? I would say it depends on my mood. For something light – opt for the fish. In the mood for something heavier, chunkier, meatier… the tenderloin. Or bring along a dining partner and order both so you can have the best of both worlds!

And finally came my favourite part of any meal…. DESSERT! We were to end our meal with a Mango and White Chocolate Bombe. Chef Brock mentioned that he does take particular attention to making sure that the desserts are perfect. Now that certainly sounds like my kinda chef!

Now although I love desserts, I am usually impartial to fruit based desserts. But this Mango and White Chocolate Bombe… was (forgive the pun) da bomb!!! The tarty mango layer paired wonderfully well with the creamy decadent white chocolate parfait layer. And though the bombe topping was a lil sweet, I absolutely loved it when eating all three layers together, with the pine nuts. I can’t wait to see what other desserts Chef Brock’s got up his sleeves!

The new beach front restaurant at Golden Sands Resort is scheduled to open its doors in January 2010. And with food like this, I am definitely looking forward to it!

lol you’re right it is partly due to the flash! But chef brock did mention that the fish was supposed to have a deeper richer color. This was the first time the kitchen had prepared this dish in his style though. taste wise it was really good!
